Our restaurant concept Hester is a joint wine & food collaboration born out of an acknowledgement of our collective family history & namesake; Hester has many meanings in different derivative language forms, for us it is both a familiar & distant ancestors that remind us of the necessary change that dictates our lives & our place in history.
We currently focus our energy on building close ties of innovation between foraged & estate agriculture, good food & wine within our Estate boundaries with a paramount focus on quality over quantity.
Our team has designed & developed our renovated 1880’s cottage restaurant space and our contemporary styled Pavilion events space for casual warm-weather dining, small celebrations, weddings, corporate events & the enjoyment of our Piccadilly Valley wines developed & pioneered by Dr Paul Anthony Henschke, his family, friends & associates.
We are transitioning into new and exciting food & beverage menu options as we continue to explore and honour our Adelaide Hills produce & wild game driven dishes, stay tuned, the next generation are only getting started.

We can cater to specific set dietaries, however it is essential to inform us if you have any special requirements as our menu changes frequently and seasonally. We cannot guarantee last minute requests.
We plan & endeavour to remain flexible for last minute arrangements, and cater to specific dietaries along the general guidelines; nut free, pescatarian, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free.
Any dietaries within this range are considered on a case by case basis as a specialist request & will be considered in your enquiry. We cannot guarantee advanced dietaries such as vegan, FODMAP, and specific dishes may be designed or substituted to accomplish general dietaries outside the available menu. -
At this time we do not cater to children and have no specific children’s menu. For any persons of 13 and over we offer the Chefs Selection Set Menu.

Yes, our entire venue is wheelchair accessible, including dedicated bathrooms. Our car park, lawns and event spaces are also fully accessible.
Please let us know in your booking so we can reserve a suitable space and drop off/ pick up.

We love dogs however we ask that dogs remain on leesh at all times and your select a balcony / outdoor table.
We cannot guarantee that other dogs may also be present and close-by so we ask that all dogs are well socialised, and are attended at all times. Please include this in your booking notes so we can confirm prior.

In keeping with our approach to wine, cooking and eating we focus on a combination of foraged, estate and local ingredients that are in season, express the Piccadilly Valley and Adelaide Hills region and frequently changes.
Chef Rich Henschke offers a Chefs Selection Set Menu for a longer style lunch to to showcase the produce-driven designed and hand-made dishes.
